| I began teaching my friendly nepalese porter and back-marker English in 1993, and now he is a trek leader, and him and his friends got together and built a school in their village near Sagamatha National Park on Everest. The great thing is that the children are given equal education whether they are male or female, and its really heartening to see them getting on well. There are currently 61 students split into 3 classes. They need books, clothes, pens, pencils and equipment. If you want to help support the school you can send donations through me to Kul Dhoj G Magar and I will make sure they reach the school directly. Contact me via e-mail: Marcia.Kramer@btinternet.com |
